Request for Change Subcommittee

Member institutions of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) have an obligation to seek and receive prior approval to implement specific changes as outlined in HLC policy.  Among the changes requiring advance approval is the offering of distance learning programs where 50% or more of the credits within a program are provided through alternate delivery.  Online programs are included in the definition of “alternate delivery” methods.  The Request for Change Subcommittee is charged with leading the process to request approval for Southern to offer fully online academic programs.  Although the request for change process is separate and distinct from the reaccreditation process, institutions may choose to schedule a substantive change review concurrently with a comprehensive evaluation visit.  Southern is requesting the request for change review and comprehensive evaluation review be conducted concurrently.
